We first featured Alex’s work in December of 2020, she has since moved to Puerto Rico with her partner to work a farm on ancestral lands with the goal of establishing food sovereignty. They have been tending the land, connecting and learning from their communities, all while beautifully documenting their work. Workwear to Share

WORKWEAR TO SHARE

Workwear to Share was created to make our clothing more accessible to all.

Our hope is that through this program, we can help a few women in need of the right stuff to do the tough stuff. Beginning in 2021, we will award a Handyma’am garment to one ma’am twice a year (a Fall/Winter cycle, and a Spring/Summer cycle). We look for two main factors in applicants:

1. The applicant is doing work that centers their communities and/or uplifts other women.

2. The applicant and/or organization aligns with our values:

We believe women are powerful, and their workwear should reflect that. For us, this means everything — quality, design, fit and production — is centered around the confidence and capability of the wearer.

Handyma’am is here because women need to be seen, heard, represented and have our needs met — whatever they are.

Anyone that fits our application criteria!

How do I apply? 
Just fill out the online application here.

Can I submit a video instead?
YES! Writing not your thing? Send us a video that touches on the questions in the application. The tone we want to set is easy going, supportive, and accessible-- have fun with it!

When are the submission deadlines?

Applications for Fall/Winter 2021 need to be submitted by July 15th 2021.

Applications for Spring/ Summer 2022 need to be submitted by January 1st 2022.

Anything else I should know?
If selected, you can expect to hear from Handyma’am by email. Each season’s recipient will be featured on our website and work with the Handyma’am team to create a unique event (virtual or in person) to share with our community!
